Dear Colleagues,
We have the great pleasure of welcoming you to Dakar for the 15th International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa. The 15th ICASA will be defined by the principles of transparency, integrity, metamorphosis, and excellence.Transparency will be paramount in all organizational processes. It will be achieved in particular through the implementation of modern tools of communication, such as a functional and dynamic website, regular meetings that bring together all actors engaged in the conference organization, and the regular documentation of each committee’s activities.
Integrity and openness will define the relationship among all actors engaged in scientific, community, and political aspects of HIV and STI research, as well as with financial partners.
Metamorphosis will be our goal at all levels of conference organization and management. By creating a new management policy, this conference strives to establish an institutional memory for ICASA that reflects the procedural expectations of the most prestigious international conferences.
Excellence is our guiding principle for this second meeting in Dakar. In striving for excellence, we will raise the profile of ICASA and reestablish it as an event of the highest quality.
Through tireless dedication, our team will create an ICASA that breaks from the inadequacies that have marked its recent past, to create a conference that will inspire the respect and confidence of the international community for generations to come.We look forward to seeing you in Dakar!
